Abstract Art
A whole bandwagon of theoretical ideas lies behind the notion of abstract art, making it one of the most subjective and politically potent of all styles of art. The common understanding however is that abstract artists remove or exclude elements from an image or scene that would normally give it its meaning, and by doing so creates a new meaning, or a new way of seeing. Abstract art can seem meaningless at first glance and therefore hard to identify with on an emotional level, but sometimes this opaqueness of meaning can make the art much more versatile and owner-friendly.
