Amy Sol is a Korean-American self-taught artist. She typically paints on wood panel, incorporating the grain of the wood and allowing it to influence the colors. Sol's art often features young maidens in exotic landscapes with fanciful creatures, and her style integrates both narrative and figurative elements with the mystic.
Sol works intuitively from beginning to end of each piece, her intent being that each painting's theme or message can be interpreted subjectively. Her style is influenced by folk art, vintage illustration, manga and modern design, and she has named Range Murata and Kay Nielsen among her artistic inspirations. Amy Sol currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
