Ken Flewellyn, was born just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s in illustration from Cal State University at Northridge. Ken’s work in the design and illustration industry naturally segued into gallery work. Since then Ken has exhibited in leading galleries all over the US.
Fueled by his love for hip-hop and interest in Japanese art his work illustrates the junction of cultures long past and contemporary subcultures.
Working mostly in oil paint on wood panel, Ken's work is vibrant and colorful, exploring a sense of figurative realism, captured in his female subjects, juxtaposed with a contemporary spin on Japanese textile design.
Ken currently resides in Los Angeles.
